Creating a unique closet is fun! Effectively using clothes hangers, like coat hangers or wood hangers, can get you started. There are many clothes hanger options.

Creating a closet that is uniquely your own can be a fun and rewarding experience. Going into a closet organization project with creativity and uniqueness in mind is a smart move. It can be difficult to fit your life into someone else’s idea of a good closet system. Using your mind and creating special spaces for your personal belongings can make your closet a happy place to visit!

Start by eliminating unnecessary storage items from your closet. Some larger items can be taking up much needed space. Try plastic vacuum compression bags to make things like sweaters, comforters, and out-of-season clothing take up less space. See what you can store in large plastic containers with lids underneath beds, in spare closets, in the basement, or in the garage. Freeing up some space will make the task of organizing much easier and open up options for a closet system that will work better for you.

Next you should try to give away or sell whatever you can do without. If you haven’t worn something in a year, then it is likely that you will not ever wear it again. Donating items to a charity or non-profit organization is a great way to get some tax deductions and help out in your community. When you have your closet contents narrowed down to what you use and need, you can start figuring out the best way to get it organized.

You may need to simply empty the closet and take a good look at what you have. Use your bed and the floor to spread everything out. Experiment a little with categorizing items so that you can begin to imagine what type of storage will work best for you. T-shirts can be stacked into small piles and stored away in cubby-style shelves. You will have easy access to them and you won’t have to tear apart a big stack looking for what you need.

Concentrate on keeping categories small. If you have a lot of t-shirts, consider separating them by style, use or color. Shorts can also go into compartment shelving, or you can hang them on skirt hangers to keep them wrinkle free and easy to access. You can use cascading skirt hangers to hang multiple pairs of shorts on one hanger, saving space.

Do the same with your pants. Pants hangers that are open on one side make them easy to slide out and put away. Keeping your work clothes separate from your casual wear will make getting ready for work a snap. Your <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers can be used to help you make space and also make your closet more efficient. Use <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Hangers">hangers for their intended purpose to keep your clothing wrinkle free and easy to organize. For example, coat hangers and wood hangers are perfect for heavier suits and coats, plus they make your closet look beautiful. When your closet is in order and working for you, you’ll start to wonder how you ever lived without it!

Choosing closet systems can be tough. Make it usable and beautiful with the right <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers. A clothes hanger, coat hanger, or wood hanger makes a difference.

There are a lot of closet organizers on the market to help you get organized and stay within your budget. You can spend anywhere from a few bucks to hundreds of thousands of dollars on a closet, so somewhere in there you are sure to find something that works for you that you can afford! Here are some ideas and things to consider when selecting what type of closet organization system you would be comfortable investing in.

1) Wire shelving is perhaps the cheapest way to go, but it is not necessarily the lowest in quality. Metal shelving systems have come a long way. They usually don’t rely on those tiny plastic clips to hold them up anymore. Most have bars that anchor into the wall studs to provide a versatile space for hanging shelves, baskets, drawers, and hanging bars. These systems can give you the versatility and strength that you need to create a personal closet space without spending a fortune.

2) Wire shelving upgrades. If you have wire shelving but you’re not crazy about the look, consider some of the newer accessories and upgrades that are on the market now. They look a lot better than the standard wire and are really useful, too. The basket drawers are perhaps the most popular wire closet system addition right now. Baskets are great for organizing and storing smaller items that can make your closet look junky. Baskets give the closet system some texture, warmth and depth that the wire alone doesn’t offer. These basket drawers are mounted on smooth gliding rails that make the basket function exactly like a drawer. However, you can easily lift out the basket and take it with you while doing laundry to make keeping your closet organized even easier.

3) Press board laminate systems can be attractive, inexpensive and useful. They give your closet that “wood shelving” appearance without investing in solid wood. These systems usually work a lot like the newer wire shelving systems and hook onto metal brackets that are secured to studs in the wall. The adjustable shelves make this type of system a desirable one to many people.

4) You may be able to install solid wood shelving systems for less money than you may have thought. Do it yourselfers find it relatively easy to install wood shelving, stain and varnish it themselves. You can even use slats to rest shelves on so that you have some control over how close together or far apart the shelves sit. Adjustable shelves may prove invaluable when you are looking at keeping your closet organized long-term.

No matter which type of shelving system you decide on, your hanger choice may be just as important. There are different <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers for different needs. Selecting the right <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Hangers">hangers for your closet can make it look beautiful or help you to save space. Coat hangers and wood hangers are perfect for coats and suits, where specialty hangers, like skirt hangers or cascading hangers, can help you save space and keep organized.

Get that high-end look with <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers, like a wood hanger or coat hanger that suits your style and need. A nice looking closet could be in your future!

Make your boring, cluttered old closet look fabulous without spending a lot of money. Do the job yourself to create a closet that is beautiful, tailored to your needs, and so useful that you’ll be happy to keep it organized. These tips can help you get your closet organized and keep it that way, while teaching you methods of organization that will help you keep it looking great.

1) Start by clearing out the clutter. Donate clothing, shoes, belts, and purses to charities that can really use them. Don’t forget to collect your receipt for a charitable tax deduction later. You may be surprised how quickly those closet cleanings can add up to a real tax break!

2) Design a closet model that will work for your belongings. If you have a lot of purses, you may want to designate a shelf designed specifically for holding all of your handbags. A simple shelf with dividers about five inches apart should give you many spaces for keeping purses separated and dust-free.

3) Shoes are a problem in most closets. The floor is not necessarily the best place for shoes. Try to use one inside wall of your closet for shoes. The back of the door is also an option if there is no room inside the closet. A simple peg rack, or dowel rack can be really inexpensive and useful for organizing a closet. Use stain and varnish to make it look like a high-end addition.

4) Find some closet accessories that not only make your closet look great, but are also useful for keeping things organized. Specialty clothes hangers, like tie hangers, scarf hangers, belt hangers, and even jewelry hangers can be used to help keep your closet in order while adding to the high-end theme that you’re going for. Choose wood hangers and matching specialty hangers to make the look uniform throughout your closet.

5) Your <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers are extremely important. Once you’ve got your design down, your hooks, pegs, and shelves installed, finish the look with wood hangers. Nothing is better than an elegant wood clothes hanger. They are timeless, sturdy, and more inexpensive than you may think. Buy bulk <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Hangers">hangers or wholesale hangers directly from the manufacturer to save a bundle. Make sure that you choose coat hangers for coats, pants hangers for pants, and other specialty hangers that will make your closet functional and beautiful at the same time. When your closet is done, you’ll be excited to keep it neat and organized every day.

<a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">Clothes hangers, like wood hangers and specialty coat hangers help you keep your coat closet nice. Use the clothes hanger designed for your garments.

It’s well into winter and your coat closet is probably in need of some organization. Is your coat closet packed with heavy coats, hanging sloppily from flimsy hangers? Are the shoes, boots, gloves, hats and scarves all mixed up? A messy coat closet will not only cost you time when you’re trying to get out the door, but it can also cause your coats to get musty, wrinkled, and lose their shape.

Tailored coats, wool coats, suit coats, and other winter wear is generally shaped at the shoulder. This helps them to look nice when worn over other clothes. It covers bulk and gives you clean lines that make you look sharp. However, ordinary hangers are not meant to hold the shape of these garments. Hangers that are too slim will make shoulders pucker and hang flat. Once that shoulder shape is lost, you could never get it back.

Choosing a coat hanger that helps your coats keep their intended shape and structure can make your coats look nice for many years. A high quality coat hanger is generally curved to fit the shape of the back of your fine coats. The shoulders should be wide, but slope down so that the corners do not push out on the sleeves. There are coat hangers made for bigger coats and plus size coats. There are also ones made in petite sizes and even children’s sizes.

You can stock the rest of your coat closet with clothes hangers that save space. These are great for lighter jackets and sweaters. Your <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Hangers">hangers should be sturdy enough to hold the weight of the garments that you put on them. They should also have good enough grips to hold onto slippery fabrics when you pull your other coats out.

Putting wet boots and shoes in the bottom of your coat closet may keep them out of site, but it can cause your coats to smell musty. That musty smell is actually mold and mildew developing in the fabrics. You should come up with a place for your boots and shoes to dry, outside of the closet. If you’re worried about moisture, mildew, mold and musty odors, you might consider wood hangers made from cedar. Cedar <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers not only deodorize, but it actually absorb moisture, keeping your coats safe.

You may need bins or baskets labeled for gloves, scarves and hats in the winter. You can get separate ones for each family member to keep things separated and easy to find. Clear bins can make it easier to see what is in each container. Mesh baskets that hang inside the door are also nice. Check out some pantry organizers that attach to the door and consider them for your coat closet organization.

Find hidden closet space using these tips. Then, update your <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers with coat hangers or wood hangers. A clothes hanger can make a difference.

A small closet can be a real problem if you don’t have a good arrangement. Most closets sport one long hanging bar and one long top shelf. To make matters worse, this bar is often positioned in the exact center of the closet, wasting the space in front of and behind the bar. You can rearrange the closet configuration to make it meet your needs. Stop wasting closet space and get yours organized today.

Start by evaluating your priorities when it comes to storing things. Do you really need every single thing in your closet? Not only can you most likely get rid of a lot of things, but half of the things in there probably could be stored somewhere else. Make rules and boundaries for your precious closet space so that you can make it more efficient and effective for what you really need it for.

Blankets, suitcases, pillows and other items can come out of the closet and be stored underneath beds. You can put them into large plastic containers that will protect them from dust, pests, and pets. Categorize your storage items as much as possible so that when new things show up in the bedroom, you’ll know where you should put it. This will help you keep your closet organized once it gets that way.

Now that you’ve narrowed down what you want to keep in your closet, organize it outside of the closet. Use the bed or the floor to stack up the things that you want to keep in the closet. Play around with configurations to see what you like. Do you think you could make more space if you hung all of the items that are the same length together? Hanging all of your pants together, or smaller shirts together often makes room for a second bar, drawers, or laundry basket underneath. Doing this can actually double your space.

If you install a second bar, consider moving the top bar up a little. There is usually a lot of unused space by the ceiling, so you may be able to move that shelf up higher, too. If you have longer dresses that need a high bar, install a smaller one on one side or the other of the closet so that they can hang down. You may also decide to push the bars back so that you reveal space at the front of the closet.

If you do have some room at the front, you can install shelving. Corner shelves, cubby shelves, or just book style shelving can give you tons of extra storage in a small space. Utilize boxes, bins, baskets and buckets for these little hidden spaces.

When you are done, update your <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers. There are many options here. You may love the look of luxurious wood hangers. You may decide to go with <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Hangers">hangers that save space. There are also specialty hangers, like belt hangers and tie hangers that can help you keep the closet organized.

DIY Closet ideas including shelving, cedar closets, hangers, and organization. Using <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">wooden hangers as opposed to regular clothes hangers, will dress up your closet.

Are you aggravated by your cluttered closet space? It’s time to do something about it. If you’re interested in do it yourself projects, then the closet is a good place to test your skills. You can make a closet as basic or as complex as your skills will allow. Designing and building a closet system yourself, as opposed to buying a ready-made system, can be rewarding and give you the personalized space that you need to get your closet organized.

There are many closet systems on the market, some more expensive, some less expensive. You can get away with the cheapest closet system that works by going with wire shelving. Because you can cut the lengths of wire shelving that you need, this can be a cost effective option that doesn’t hinder your creative style. However, some people do not like the look of the wire closet system, and would like something more permanent or attractive, like wood.

Wood shelving systems can get very expensive, but not if you do it yourself. You may need a helper to install wood shelves, but having a second person on the job can be beneficial anyway. Run your ideas past your partner and get input. Sometimes, if you open the door, so to speak, people will surprise you with their ideas. Do some research online as well so that you can get ideas. Figure out what you might be able to build and put it in the plan.

Customize the design as much as you’d like. Things like drawers can be difficult if you’re inexperienced, but something like a shoe shelf can be relatively easy. You can slant shelves and install a dowel rod at the front to keep shoes from slipping. Simply glue it down or tack it with finishing nails. Make sure that you sand, stain, and varnish your shelves, unless they are cedar.

Cedar closets are really beautiful and offer many benefits; one being that you don’t have to stain or varnish! Cedar is a very aromatic wood that actually deodorizes your closet. It absorbs moisture and humidity from the air so that you don’t ever have to worry about mold, mildew, or their musty odors. Cedar will also keep your closet free of pests. It’s so beautiful and all you have to do is sand.

When you’re done with your project, dress it up a bit by using <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">wooden hangers. You can buy wholesale <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wood Hangers">wood hangers to make it an inexpensive upgrade for your closet. Cedar hangers are a great addition whether you have a cedar closet or not. You may also want some specialty wood hangers, such as a tie hanger, belt hanger, or pants hanger. These don’t just look great, they’re functional, too. You’ll have your new closet looking great in no time.

Make your closet work for you by personalizing the space. Then, outfit it with nice clothes hangers, like <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">wooden hangers, to avoid the problems that other hangers can give you.

There are many problems with closets that we run into often. Clothes that become wrinkled or fall off the hanger, things getting too crowded, and lack of storage space are the biggest complaints. Closets can be a real asset when they’re designed to meet your personal needs. Getting creative and making the space work for you is key. Use these tips and tricks for making your closet work for you, instead of against you.

1) Out with the old, in with the new. We tend to keep things way too long. We hold onto items that are bulky, out of style, scuffed up, doesn’t fit right, or just things that we don’t necessarily need. Sometimes we figure out while organizing that we don’t like hardly anything in our closets. Imagine if you got rid of everything that wasn’t your very favorite how much space you’d have! Start being picky and get rid of all the excess baggage in your closet.

2) When the closet is cleared out, this is the perfect time to get it really clean. We tend to neglect cleaning the closet floor, baseboards and shelves for long periods of time. This can increase the risk of pests, molds and mildews in our closets. Get in there and clean the floor really well. Wipe down the shelves, hanging bar, and other hardware. You may even decide to give the closet a fresh coat of paint while it’s empty.

3) Now, take inventory of what you have. If you have a lot of t-shirts, you may consider designating a shelf specifically for t-shirts in your closet. If you have a lot of shoes, you may want to invest in some cubby-style shelving to accommodate all of your shoes. If you would like to keep things like socks, underwear, pajamas, and swimwear in your closet, you may want to plan for room on a shelf for baskets, buckets, or bins. The key here is to make sure that you plan the space and have it accommodate your personal belongings. Cookie-cutter organization systems often leave people needing more space in one area and less in others.

4) After you have your personal shelving and hanging bar configuration installed, it is time to get serious about making some storage space. Use vacuum bags designed for storing blankets and out of season clothing. Hang your clothes on hangers that work for your closet. <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">Wooden hangers give the closet a luxurious look and feel. <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wood Hangers">Wood hangers also are functional in helping you solve some of your closet problems. Most wooden clothes hangers are curved to fit suits and coats, helping them to keep their shape. You can invest in cedar clothes hangers to keep your closet smelling fresh. When your closet is designed to meet your needs, you will enjoy having it and keeping it organized.

<a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">Wooden hangers finish out a closet themed in wood. Wood clothes hangers, like a cedar clothes hanger, and other touches make the wood theme stand out.

Closets that feature wood shelves, cabinets, drawers and wooden hangers are classically beautiful. These closet styles withstand the test of time, in beauty and in functionality. If you’re considering installing a closet that features wood, then you have a lot of options.

Wood is one of the sturdiest building materials on the market. For closets, nothing beats cedar. It is strong, fragrant, and protects your wardrobe from mold, mildew, and pests. Cedar has a beautiful, colorful wood grain that is both unique and stunning. The look of cedar has been adored for generations.

In addition to the many benefits of cedar that you’ll experience long-term, you can also enjoy the fact that cedar doesn’t have to be stained or varnished. Its uniqueness is best enjoyed unfinished. After a few years, your wooden cedar hangers, shelves, and cabinetry can be gently sanded with a fine grit sandpaper to renew its fragrance.

Other types of wood shelving that are popular are maple, oak, and pine. Pine isn’t quite as sturdy as the other types of wood, but is still great for closets. If you use pine, be aware that the wood can easily split when you are nailing or screwing it into place. Drill a small pilot hole in the shelves before you nail or insert a screw to avoid this problem.

You can paint the walls of the closet with a color that compliments the wood you are using before you install. It is easier to do this before you install shelving. You can also sand, stain and varnish wood before you install it.

Once you have your system in place, you can accentuate the wood theme by installing crown moulding in the closet. You can install wood doors, door frames, use a dowel instead of a metal bar, use <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wood Hangers">wood hangers or other high end clothes hangers, and install baseboards around the sides, top and bottom of your system. Wooden pegs instead of metal hooks make for functional hat and robe storage. You can also use a wood clothes hanger designed to hold things like belts and ties.

If you like the idea of a cedar closet, you might love the idea of lining the closet in cedar. You can use cedar planks or panels to finish out the closet. It looks beautiful and smells wonderful. It deodorizes your clothes and shoes so that you never have to worry about that musty closet smell.

Using wood in your closet will make it something you are proud of. It will be beautiful, increase your home’s selling value, and give you a sturdy closet system that can last you forever. Doing the project yourself will give you a feeling of accomplishment. Finishing out the closet with <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">wooden hangers will give it that timeless beauty that you’re looking for.

Tricks for getting your closet organized and keeping it that way. Use <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers that benefit you, like wood hangers.

Closets can get out of control, especially when seasons change. Is your closet in serious need of help? Could you use more storage space? Use these tips and tricks to create the space that you need, even if you’re on a tight budget. You may be surprised how much room you’re able to make. In addition to space, you can arrange your closet in such a way that it is easy to keep organized. Don’t let the season change clutter up your life. Get to work on your closet and you’ll be ready for the cold weather.

There are a few basic guidelines that you should keep in mind as you organize. You should adopt a minimalist attitude, to an extent, and get rid of any excess clothing, shoes, belts, or other items that you don’t regularly use. Most people take comfort in wearing their favorite clothing over and over again. What happens is that you get something new that you love and end up taking one of your old favorites out of the rotation. You may look at it and think that you like it and want to keep it and then never wear it again.

Use this tried and true trick to help you determine what should stay and what should go. Turn all of your hangers around backwards on the bar. Wear your clothes as you normally would for the entire season. Then, when it is time to swap out your winter wardrobe for your summer wardrobe, take note of what you never wore and get rid of it. Do this every time you switch out wardrobes and your closet will constantly stay organized. This process keeps you from hanging on to clothes year after year that you never wear, and also helps you to realize when you’ve replaced an old favorite with a new one.

Keeping the amount of clothing in your closet down to a minimum will help you to free up space that you can use for storage. With just a few tweaks, you can make use of the wasted space that you may not have even realized you had. See if you have room above your hanging clothes for two shelves instead of one. Look at the sides of your closet to see if you may be able to extend those top shelves out to the front of the closet. You may even be able to move the top shelf up and make room for an extra hanging bar, drawers, cabinets or shelves below your clothes.

Limiting what you store can be a lot of work, but minimizing the space that you use for the things that you need to keep is key in organizing your closet. Utilize other space saving accessories such as hooks, over-the-door racks, bins and baskets. You can update your <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Clothes Hangers">clothes hangers to ones that stay separated on the bar, like wood hangers, and your clothes will stay wrinkle free all season. You can also utilize <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Hangers">hangers that save space by allowing you to hang multiple items on one hanger.

There are many tricks to getting your closet organized and keeping it that way, you just have to take the time to figure out what will work best for you.

Use clothes hangers, like <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">wooden hangers or cedar hangers, to maintain freshness in your linen closet. Hanging sheets is an easy solution.

Linen closets can get musty and give your sheets and towels an odd smell. Don’t you just hate having to rewash your sheets before you can put them on your bed? Here are some ideas for freshening up your linen closet and keeping it organized.

First, get everything clean. Sheets, blankets, and other fine linens can get really wrinkled under the weight of each other. Plus, stacking them in the traditional manner helps them to hold in moisture and create that tell-tale musty linen closet odor. The smell actually comes from molds and mildews growing in your sheets and towels. If your closet smells, it may be a good idea to rewash the sheets and towels that are in there before you begin. Make sure that they are completely dry and free of moisture before you put them back in.

To avoid the wrinkled sheet problem, try installing an inexpensive hanging bar in the linen closet. You can use sturdy wooden hangers or specialty hangers with clips to hang your fresh sheets. This keeps them nice and smooth, instead of compressed, musty and wrinkled. It’s a really easy solution to a lot of linen closet problems.

The next thing you can do is use cedar wood hangers in the linen closet. Clothes hangers made of cedar absorb any moisture that may be left in your clean laundry. They also deodorize the area and keep it smelling fresh. They help fabrics and carpet resist mold and mildew growth. The smell of cedar is so nice on your linens and will make you feel like you’re staying in a nice hotel whenever you use a towel or change your sheets.

If you like other scents, you can use sachets or linen sprays. Sachets are just little bags made of breathable fabric. You can fill them with your favorite herbs, dried flowers, potpourri or cedar accessories. You just sprits linen sprays on your fabrics weekly to keep the whole closet smelling nice. Cedar will last a long time but may eventually start to lose its aroma. If that happens with cedar hangers or cedar accessories, just rub them a little with a fine-grit sandpaper and they’ll be as good as new again.

You can also use dryer sheets to freshen your closet. Some people like to put one dryer sheet, or fabric softener sheet, in between each sheet and towel in the linen closet. However, many people with sensitive skin are unable to use fabric softeners. If this is the case for you, simply leave the box of fabric softener sheets in the closet, but not touching any of your linens. This may be a good idea for everyone, since dryer sheets contain a wax that can mark your sheets and other linens.

Using dryer sheets, sachets, cedar accessories and cedar clothes hangers will keep your closet smelling nice. Hanging linens on nice <a href="http://www.closethangerfactory.com"title="Wooden Hangers">wooden hangers will keep it looking great as well. A good wood hanger will be sturdy enough to support the weight of heavy blankets without bending or breaking. When your linen closet is fresh and organized, you can enjoy it every day.
